Every class runs for 45 minutes on the Common. No machines, no mirrors — proper training in the open air.

Battle PT

High-intensity cardio — 3 to 6km covered through bodyweight exercises and drills. The session that sends your fitness up fast.

Strength

Lower intensity with weights and equipment — building strength, mobility and muscle. Move better and lift heavier.

Functional Fitness

Equipment and bodyweight drills for a challenging full-body strength and cardio workout. The complete all-rounder.

George Anderson

Qualified Personal Trainer in London since 2015

George has run Combat Conditioning on Tooting Common for years, bringing structured, safe, properly-coached outdoor training to all fitness levels — from complete beginners to seasoned athletes.

His background is in the military: he completed the Army Physical Training Instructor course and spent years training others to get fit and stay fit. That same disciplined, no-nonsense approach is what you get in every session.

Where to meet

We meet at the car park on Dr Johnson Avenue, SW17. Please arrive five minutes before your class so the register can be taken and any injuries noted.

What fitness level do I need?
If you're medically fit, able to exercise for 45 minutes and keen to improve your own fitness, you'll be fine. Beginners are genuinely welcome.
What should I bring?
Normal clothing and running trainers, suitable for the weather, plus a water bottle so you can rehydrate straight afterwards.
What if the weather's bad?
Training carries on outdoors all year round — rain or shine.
What happens on my first session?
Arrive five minutes before the stated class time so the register can be taken and any injuries or medical issues noted — then you're straight into it.
Are there showers and changing facilities?
Yes — showers and changing rooms at Tooting Bec Athletic Track, just across from the meeting point, are open to the public, generally from 7am.
How do I book and pay?
Choose a membership above and pay securely by card. Once you're in, you book your sessions in the app — simple.
